Florida Caverns State Park–Marianna Florida

When I first read about this state park, I wanted to go up to the panhandle to see it as soon as we could.  This park has something to offer for just about anyone – there is hiking, kayaking/canoeing, swimming (when the spring is reopened), and a cave tour that is a must-see.  There’s also a gift shop and a small museum in the center of the park.

The campsites are all pretty large, with enough space between them, also, we came the day after Labor Day, so it wasn’t very crowded.  The sites are also nice and level, and the ground is hard packed dirt.  The only downside to this was on the one afternoon when it rained – it was a little muddy until it dried up.  The bath house was also nice, and kept very clean; in addition to showers, it also had a laundry are with coin-operated washers and dryers and a laundry sink.
