Last year I met some new friends and was able to make my first overnight backpack trip to Upper Yosemite Falls. Being a FL girl, I won't say it wasn't hard, especially with an extra 35# of gear but it was a once in a lifetime sorta thing. I can't tell ya where we parked but we had to take a bus to our trail entrance, a ton of little switchbacks straight up almost had me giving up but once the upper falls which was flowing heavier than it had in previous years caught my eye, I wasn't giving up. The trail has a lot of day hiker traffic but not many stay at the top and there are a few additional little spots you can hit in the morning before the crowds - like the Upper Falls themselves. I'd recommend this to anyone although the full force of the falls is what made the trip --- monitor the time of year and make sure you get there early summer. Glad I found your site, I'm trying to find some excitement here in flat little Florida. Safe journeys.

Thanks SunnyD, I'll have to check that out. I've never been to Yosemite, but I plan on making it there soon!

You'll find there are a lot of really nice spots for hiking in central Florida; some of my favorite hikes have been along the Econ River. Hope to see you on the trails!
