We started this trip by dropping Tina's car off at the Chuluota Wilderness Area parking spot, only to find a sign that said the area was closed. There was a fire truck in the parking area; when we asked, the fireman said their was a brush fire earlier in the week, but it was taken care of.
We decided to go with our plan - we figured that if we came up on a "closed" sign on the way up that we would just return by car to pick up Tina's Jeep.
As it turned out, there were no signs - they must have been waiting until after the weekend to take this one down. There were ticks on this trip too, but not as many as the other leg from Joshua Creek. Hopefully they're only bad in this area.
