View from the Campground
The view from this campsite is one of the nicest I’ve seen. My campsite was on the shore of Lake Seminole; it was a pull through site with water and electricity. Internet access with T Mobile was spotty at best – sometimes I had a 4G connection, then it would drop off completely. The site itself wasn’t very level; I used about three levels of leveling blocks. All said though, I really liked this campground.
If I had a fishing pole with me, I could have easily spent an afternoon sitting on the dock drowning worms. Just a few steps away from my campsite was a dock that was a perfect spot for fishing. Also near the campsite was boat launch that would work well for powered boats or a kayak or canoe.
I started out my full-day at the campsite with a hike along the Lakeview Trail that went from the campground to the day-use area along the edge of the lake. At one point along the trail I came up on an otter that was headed in the opposite direction. The trail at that spot was far enough from the water that I was surprised to see him there.
Hiking the Lakeview Trail
It was an easy three-mile hike, and where it opened up to the day-use area I met a couple who were the current campground hosts. We sat in the shade and talked for a bit – nice couple!
I really enjoyed my brief stay here – it’s a very pretty spot and a peaceful campground.
