Holder Mine Campground–Withlacoochee State Forest

Our campsite 2This is the first campground that we visited with our new pop up.  We selected this site because of it’s proximity to some trails that we wanted to explore, as well as the fact that it had electricity available so we could run our air conditioner.

The campsite is run by the forestry service, and we saw them make several trips through the area; when they drove by as we were setting up, they stopped to say hello and gave us a map of the trails in the area.  They keep the campground in really nice shape.  The bathhouse was also regularly cleaned.

We arrived on a Friday morning, and left the following Sunday morning.  While we were there, we explored three trails – each of which was easily within walking distance of the campsite.
